Financial Literacy Workshop

Financial Literacy Workshop

The workshop will bring together students and student leaders from ten universities across Uganda to participate in discussions aimed at improving financial management skills among young people. The initiative is part of the alumni association’s efforts to empower students with practical knowledge on personal finance, saving, investment, and responsible financial planning.

The event will feature Muhammad Kakiika, the President of the Financial Literacy Association of Uganda, as the key facilitator. He is expected to deliver insights on financial discipline, wealth creation, and the importance of financial education among university students.

The workshop is being organized in partnership with Centenary Bank, which will support the initiative as part of its commitment to promoting financial literacy and responsible banking among the youth.

According to the organizers, the engagement will provide participants with practical tools on budgeting, saving, entrepreneurship, and investment opportunities, equipping them with knowledge that can help them make informed financial decisions during and after university life.

The Financial Literacy Workshop is also one of the pre-dinner activities leading up to the upcoming 7th IUIU Alumni Dinner, which seeks to bring together alumni, partners, and stakeholders to strengthen networks and support initiatives that benefit the university community.

Organizers say the event will include interactive presentations, discussions, and networking sessions, allowing students from different universities to learn from experts and exchange ideas on financial empowerment.

The IUIU Alumni Association continues to champion programs that promote professional development, leadership, and life skills among students and graduates, contributing to the broader goal of building financially responsible and socially impactful young leaders in Uganda.
