According to an official completion report released on February 18, 2026, a total of UGX 3,678,000 was distributed to beneficiaries through mobile money platforms, ensuring quick and convenient access to funds. The disbursement exercise was carried out over two days, from February 17 to February 18, 2026.

In total, 26 beneficiaries received financial assistance through MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money transactions. The funds were sent directly to registered mobile numbers of the beneficiaries or their guardians, enabling them to promptly purchase essential scholastic materials such as uniforms, books, and other school requirements.

Among the recipients were individuals including Hilda Hatoko, Jalia Nabakka, Kusolo Yahaya Watuwa, Hadija Namuleme, and Nalongo Nulu, among others. Each beneficiary received varying amounts depending on their needs, with transactions ranging between UGX 140,000 and UGX 422,000.

The Welfare Committee confirmed that all transactions were verified using digital logs from both telecom service providers. This verification process ensured transparency and accountability, confirming that all funds successfully reached the intended recipients.

Speaking on the initiative, the committee noted that the disbursement marks a significant milestone in supporting alumni families and vulnerable beneficiaries within the community. The Back-to-School program aims to ease the financial burden on families and promote access to education for children connected to the alumni network.

“The successful completion of this phase demonstrates our commitment to the welfare of our members and their families. These contributions will go a long way in ensuring that learners begin their academic term with dignity and adequate preparation,” the report highlighted.

The committee further expressed gratitude to all alumni members whose contributions made the initiative possible, emphasizing the importance of continued support and solidarity in uplifting the community.

The Back-to-School Initiative remains one of the key welfare programs of the IUIU Alumni, reflecting a shared vision of empowering families through education and social support.
