The Second Term Back-to-School Drive 2026 stands as a monumental success for the IUIU Alumni Welfare Committee. Through systematic organization and unwavering sacrifice from field officers, twenty-nine children have entered their second academic term with security, necessary school requirements, and deep pride. The committee expresses massive gratitude to all executive members, individual donors, and selfless well-wishers whose financial contributions formed the lifeblood of this intervention.
OBJECTIVES OF THE DRIVE 1. Direct Scholastic Support: To provide timely financial top-ups and welfare support to beneficiaries under the care of the alumni database to fulfill secondary and primary school term requirements. 2. Timely School Reporting: To guarantee that orphans and vulnerable children of deceased or financially constrained alumni report back to their respective schools on day-one of Term Two. 3. Fraternal Solidarity: To actualize and reinforce the foundational values of compassion, mutual support, and organic community solidarity amongst the IUIU Alumni fraternity. 4. Field Monitoring & Assessment: To conduct periodic home visits, observe living conditions, track school academic progress, and check on the well-being of surviving widows and guardians. 3. ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED • Field Home Visits & Family Engagements: Committee teams physically traveled to household domiciles in Central Uganda, Busoga region, and Eastern Uganda to offer direct counseling and fraternity presence. • Distribution of Financial Support Packages: Cash allocations were systematically disbursed to mothers, guardians, and local focal persons to clear outstanding fees and secure scholastic essentials. • Welfare Status Auditing: Structured follow-up assessments were administered to register ongoing household vulnerabilities, changes in family dynamics, and track student enrollment statuses.
